Jamie Shields, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.  I am additionally Certified as an EMDR Therapist.  I provide an eclectic approach to counseling by utilizing components of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.  Additionally, I have experience working with children, teens and adults on issues relating to trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.    

​​My undergraduate work was completed at the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.  I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Houston in Clear Lake.   I am a Certified EMDR Therapist.  I believe that building a strong client-therapist relationship is essential to the process of healing. I’m Shadia an LPC-A (Supervised by Morgan Tuck, M.A., LPC-S, NCC).  

 I am committed to helping people learn how to build skills that assist them in living more satisfying lives. My counseling style focuses on targeting & changing ineffective behaviors, habits, and beliefs that keep clients stuck in unfulfilling situations. My undergraduate degree (Bachelors of Science in Psychology Pre-Med) was obtained from Xavier University of Louisiana. I also hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from Houston Christian University. I have been working as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) which has given me the opportunity of helping students of all ages.
